Visual Creative New York City Sign and Awning company use only the latest equipment and best practices in design, fabrication and installation of new commercial awnings and canopies. Staple System Awnings offer the greatest flexibility in design and fabrication of interior and store front awnings, canopies and back-lit awnings. The frame material can be either aluminum or galvanized steel and utilizes the “staple-in” method of attaching fabric. With this awning system, fabric is taken directly from the roll and stapled into a channel which has been extruded into the tubing. A PVC or fabric covered PVC finishing trim is then inserted into the channel to provide corrosion protection and aesthetic appeal. Staple system awnings are perfect for back-lit applications. Signage on the awning is displayed during the day and night. Lighting is placed inside the awning frame or behind the fabric. Back-lit awnings and canopies are specially designed so that the shadows of the framework do not impede light transmission through the signage area. This makes for an attractive multi-color sign during the day and night while providing protection from the weather all year long. When combined with an attractive door or storefront window, branding your business is simple and effective so customers will locate your business easily. Alpha Awnings and Canopies can be a great choice from various standpoints including cost effectiveness, quick turnaround, cosmetic, sales & marketing. In terms of functionality for commercial use. Well-designed fabric awnings and canopies impact building energy use tremendously and the benefits of fabric awnings go far beyond good looks. In a typical building, more energy is often lost through glass doors and windows than through any other part of the building. On hot days, more energy can come through one square foot of glass than through an entire insulated wall. The Suns radiation through glass is responsible for approximately about 20 % of the load on your air conditioner. Window films and lightly tinted glass can effectively reduce some heat gain and sun glare but properly designed awnings will accomplish the same purpose and significantly increase energy saved over the film and tinted glass. Studies by the American Society of Heating and Air Conditioning Engineers show that during the period of the day when the sun shines directly on southern facing windows, a fabric awning reduces heat gain by 55 to 65 percent. For windows with western exposure, the reduction in heat gain is 72 to 77 percent. We take into consideration all angles when recommending awnings for your commercial business organization. We consider proper shape, style, venting, wind load, snow load and color selection… all aspects that will help effect the aesthetic and best energy savings performance of the awning(s). We help you select a style that will accommodate the right look but also how much the sun penetrates the windows. For southern and western exposure, sides may need to be added to the awnings for additional protection. For northern and eastern facing windows, less protection is usually necessary. Seasons will also make a difference. In order to take advantage of the sun’s warmth on cooler days, some awnings are designed to be retracted. The awning’s design could create more air circulation to dissipate heat build-up. Select a shape that best suits the windows being protected as well as the orientation of the windows. Color choice and types of material are important energy-saving considerations. Awnings with low solar-absorbing surfaces (white) maintain temperatures closer to the outdoor air temperature. As a result, air temperature under the awnings isn’t raised appreciably. Awnings that absorb solar radiation (dark colors) may need to be vented to reduce radiation and heat build-up underneath the awning.
